Poker taboos that you need to know about

Poker etiquette at 99 poker is not only about what you are supposed to do, but it is also about the things that you need not do. The following are some points about what you need not do; the taboos you have to avoid when at the poker table. They are not in any particular order.

Having to reveal your cards during a hand

Whether you are not active or active, revealing your cards during a hand is regarded as poor poker etiquette. It gives away your information that might give an advantage to one player against the other.

If, for example, player A happens to be on a draw and hopes for a particular card, and you show that you have it, that will automatically change how they will play their hand, which is regarded as an unfair advantage.

You have to remember that there are various ways you can use to reveal your cards when at the table. It is easy to avoid telling everyone the card you have, but you also need to accidentally avoid revealing your cards.

When you carelessly through your cards when folding, might make them be exposed. When you see a flop after a fold, the reaction you have when you see a fold might give away unplanned information. If you happen to exclaim because you have just failed to make a great hand, there is a likelihood of other players determining what you might be having in your hand with some certainty.

Having to talk about a hand which you are not involved in

When you give out a commentary when a hand that you are not involved in is against poker etiquette, nobody is interested in your views on how each player may not or may have, what they are supposed to do next, or what you anticipate will happen.

It is something that might be annoying to the players who are involved in the hand because what they need is concentration. It could also mean that you are trying to offer advice to a player, which is not allowed in poker rooms.

Criticizing your opponent

You are not there to criticize the way the opponents play. Even if they are making mistakes or offering constructive feedback, that is not the way you are supposed to behave when you are at the poker table.

Every poker player has the right to play the way they want within the rules, and it is not up to you to start pointing out where others are going wrong. Why should it be your job to want others to play better? They should make mistakes to give you higher chances of winning.  You always have to remember that.

Berating or blaming the dealer

You always have to remember that the poker dealers are doing their job, and they don’t have control when it comes to the cards dealt. When you attack the dealer verbally because you suffered a beat or your runs are poor, cards are not acceptable in poker.
